Redundancy of Brekeke without VIP configuration?

Post by Happy »

1. Brekeke Product Name and Version:
BSS v3.7.7.8 in SBC3 and SBC8

2. Java version: v7 update 80

3. OS type and the version: WinXP

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
Our sip client software

5. Your problem:

How to make my SBC3 and SBC8 as redundant SIP Servers, without configuring the Virtual IP Address to these servers. I want to use the actual ip address of the SBC to register my clients and make calls with. So that, the redundancy is maintained between SBC3 and SBC8. That means If SBC3 goes down SBC8 should take the role of Primary SBC. And if SBC3 is up, it should take the role of active again and SBC8 should become secondary.

Is that possible without using a Virtual IP address configuration?

Are you using Windows XP for running Brekeke SIP Servers under redundancy deployments?

I recommend you use Linux..

Does Brekeke does not work in Windows XP in redundancy mode?

If i upgrade to Win 7 or Win 10, does brekeke work in redundancy mode?

Does anything like database needs to get configured for brekeke to run in redundancy mode in Windows OS?

Any strong reason for recommending Linux?

Brekeke SIP Server can run on WindowsXP, Windows7 and Windows10. But theses OS are designed for personal computers not for server uses. Also Microsoft ended the support for WindowsXP 9 years ago.

Do you have any reason to use such an old OS for SIP redundancy?

If you use Linux, you can manage redundancy easily because it provides useful command sets.
If you can not use Linux, I recommend that you use Windows Server 2016.
