Inbound DTMF

Post by dannas »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: Multi Tenant 2.4.7.3

We are seeing an issue where inbound DTMF is not recognized correctly. For example, an inbound call form the PSTN reaches the IVR and inputs 105 but is transferred to 110. This has been reported by two different tenants and is a sporadic issue.

Codec priority is g.729, g.711u (18,0)

rfc2833 is yes

use remote codec is yes

I would understand something not recognizing DTMF but recognizing it incorrectly is a new one for me. Thanks for any help.

Hi did this fix your issue. I am having the same problem but with sip server.

Where do you set out band for dtmf?

Thanks,

Hi Chris ,

Since Brekeke SIP Server is a SIP proxy, it just forwards any RTP packets without modifications.
It means SIP Server doesn't convert DTMF between in-band and out-band.

Hi Laurie,
Thankyou.
That was put very well. If I needed to change the way dtmf tones are passed I imagine that that would need to be a setting in my gateway, or use a different means of providing SIP Trunks?
Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Right. You need to tune DTMF settings in your gateway.

Joe,
Sorry for not updating the post. You are right, yesterday we found that problem is with the the encoding format. When we use G.711 DTMF is working fine. Thanks for your support and guidance.
