SIP to TAP setup and Troubleshooting

Post by Vanwinklekevin »

1. Brekeke Product Name and Version:
Responder SIP Server Version 3.14.5.17

2. Java version:
Eclipse Temurin JDK 11

3. OS type and the version:
Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Standard

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
Ethernet to Digione SP

5. Your problem:
Is there a way to send out TAP via the SIP to TAP plus a dial plan to a TAP device or do I need SIP as well? We have tested the message out successfully but cant send a message from the Responder system to the SIP server then out via the SIP to TAP.

Do you want to forward SIP message to a TAP transmitter through two Responder SIP Servers?

Like this?

Responder --(SIP)--> SIP Server 1 --(SIP)--> SIP Server 2 --(TAP/TCP)--< Digione SP --(TAP/serial)--> TAP Transmitter

No we want to send it out one Sip to a trap transmitter
Responder --(SIP/TAP)--> --< Digione SP --(TAP/serial)--> TAP Transmitter (Phillips Care Event)

Does the SIP server require a SIP connection to create the TAP connection?

Responder SIP Server converts SIP to TAP so Digione and Phillips don't have to support SIP.

Is this setup in the Dial plans to translate from SIP to TAP? I can't find any info about the process on the wiki. Could someone point me in the right direction?

If it is Responder SIP Server, there is a default DialPlan rule named "SIP_TAP". It handles SIP-TAP conversion.
Also refer to the Responder SIP Server's Reference Guide for more details.
