SIP session timer - RFC4028
1. Brekeke Product Name and version:
BSS, 2.4.8.6, 3.2.3.6
2. Java version:
1.6.0_25, 1.6.0_45
3. OS type and the version:
linux centos 5.5
4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
doesn't matter
5. Your problem:
I wanted to know if BSS is able to run SIP session timers to update/refresh the session / check if it is still up (RFC 4028). RTP timer is not what i am looking for because RTP is flowing around the BSS.
The problem i am encountering is that from time to time some of the calls are hanging in Closing, Accepted or Initialized status. Thats why i want to set re-INVITE or UPDATE periodically to verify the session and narrow down calls affected.
Thanks.

Hi Tata,
Yes i am familiar with these timers.
I am rather looking for a possibility to setup a kind of update timer (120secs for instance)
After its expiration BSS should send reInvite or Update and wait for response to decide if session is still active or there was a kind of problem and the session is no more active.
Do we have this type of timer available in BSS?
Thanks.

Thanks Mike for an update.
Will it be next release or is it in your roadmap scheduled for further rel?
The reason i would like to cover this case is that we are having "hanged calls", even net.sip.timeout.talking is not limiting them.
Disconnecting them manualy is affecting 481 Call/Transaction does not exist message received from call originator.
Unfortunately we are not using RTP Proxy to benefit from RTP Session timeout.
Thanks.
