a confused trouble about SIP SERVER

Post by LeeFrederick »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version:Brekeke SIP Server Version 2.4.7.3 Standard

2. Java version:JRE 6 Update 23

3. OS type and the version:windows server 2003

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html : Pattern 3

6. Your problem:
after the sip server run for sometime, for example, about two days or more,
the caller can not hear the callee, but the callee can hear the caller.
At this time,I disable then network card and then enable it,and then it will work normally.
But at this time if I restart the Brekeke SIP Server,It also doesn't work.
The sip server has a public network ip address.
I want to know then reason about it and how to solve. thank you very much.

Are you using a dynamic IP address as the SIP Server's public IP address?
I mean.. are you using DHCP for getting a public IP?

Are you using a port-forwarding function at the router to forward SIP and RTP packets to the SIP server?

Does the SIP server have a local private IP address too?

What kind of client phone are you using??

Thanks for your reply.

I am using a static public IP address as the SIP Server's public IP address, and the ip address is configured on then server's network card.

But the server has two network cards, and the other network card has a private IP address.Because the SIP Server need to connect with a voice exchange on the lan.Indeed, each sip talking is between an ATA device and a voice exchange's sip trunk. In most cases, the sip talking is normal.

I am using some ATA devices to connect to the sip server.

And I found another confused trouble.after the SIP Server run for sometime, for example, two days or more,I could not open the SIP Server admintool,at this time I restart the Server(Not SIP Server),and it will work normally. Is it the same problem?

It seems a setting issue.

Can you see both public and private IP addresses at the [interface] field of the [Server Status] page?
Are there any other IP addresses?

> Because the SIP Server need to connect with a voice exchange on the lan.

Do you have any DialPlan rule to connect the SIP server to the voice exchange?
or is the voice exchange registered in the SIP server?

How is the CPU/memory usage when the issue happened?

I can see both public and private IP addresses at the [interface] field of the [Server Status] page, and it hasn't any other ip addresss there.

I don't need DialPlan rule. The voice exchange registers in the SIP server as a sip client,The voice exchange is assigned a sip account, and each talking is between an ATA device and the voice exchange. The voice exchange will call the ATA device' s sip account.

Dose the Configuration > System need any other settings?I don't konw how to fill in the form.for example,[Server Location] of General,[Interface address 1] of [Network],I have tried to fill the public ip address in [Interface address 1] of [Network],and the private ip address in [Interface address 2] of [Network],but the same issue appears after tow days or more.

do you have any dialplan rules?

how many concurrent calls are they when the issue happen?

are you using a firewall at windows server 2003?
if you are using a firewall, open the following udp ports.
5060
10000-10999

I don't have any dialplan rules.

There are no concurrent calls when the issue happens.I found out the trouble when I make a call.

All the firewalls are closed, and I have changed the sip's port to 29988.and the RTP port is from 10000 to 10999.

I also found when I couldn't open the admintool and couldn't hear the caller,I can open the admintool on the sip server.

Thank you

Can you make a call between ATA without the exchange ?
Why do you use 29988 for Brekeke SIP Server?

Thanks for your reply.

I can make a call between two ATA devices, but I haven't tried when the trouble happen,I will try next time.in most cases, the talking between ATA and voice exchange is normal.

I donn't want to use the regular port because of the safety reason.

Are you using Brekeke SIP Server under a virtual environment such as VMware?

Was the CPU usage almost 100% when the trouble happened?

The SIP Server is not under a virtal environment,The public IP address is directly configured on the netword card.
The CPU uasge was 1%~2% when the trouble happened.

The SIP Server's private IP address is 192.168.1.6.
And I disabled one network card recently,Only the public IP address remains.and the trouble hasn't appear recently.in this case,The voice change connects to the SIP Server throug the public IP address.
But what's the reason?

Hi

it seems network settings caused the issue..
in the LAN environment, are there any firewall or switch in the middle of the SIP server and the voice change?

If you use another PC for Brekeke, does the same issue happen??
