Any plans to support TCP/5060 for SIP?

Post by BrianOakes »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: SIP 2.0.7.0

2. Java version: 5.0 Update 11

3. OS type and the version: Windows 2003 SP1

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved: SIPura-841

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :Pattern1

6. Your problem: Are there any plans to support TCP for SIP. Our deployment requires this, and your SIP/PBX Servers are a great solution.

This is a user forum. Brekeke would probably respond to an email to sales@brekeke.com for a question about future features.

Hi,

I don't think Brekeke has any immediate plans to support TCP based on what they have not talked about. My understanding is that it would require a lot of work to accomplish. However, I am curious as to what the need is. What do you need TCP sip for?

This is required to connect to Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging. Apparently it is possible to the sipX as a bridge.

Also, support for SIP over TCP is now a requirement for the newest SIP RFC.
