Second BSS for Geographic Redundancy

Post by JRayfield »

1. Brekeke Product Name and Version:

Brekeke SIP Server 3.8.5.2

2. Java version:

1.8.0_161

3. OS type and the version:

Windows 7 Pro

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

3CX IP PBX Connecting to BSS

5. Your problem:

I currently have one BSS running and working well.

I want to set up another BSS, at a different geographic location, as a secondary 'backup' server to the 3CX IP PBX. This second server will be on a completely different network, including a different internet connection, than the first BSS.

This is easy to set up and implement, except that I would like to be able to backup the Dial Plan from the Primary BSS, and 'restore' it to the Secondary BSS, so that I don't have to manually make changes to the Secondary BSS when changes are made to the Primary BSS. I don't think the mirroring will work, since both servers can't have the same parameters for internet public IP, etc. Only the Dial Plans should be the same.

Is there a way to back up, or mirror, only the Dial Plan from a BSS, to get it onto another BSS installation?

You can manually Import/Export DialPlan file at [Dial Plan]->[Import/Export] page.

For automatic DialPlan backup, you may need to implement it with the management API or request Brekeke's team to add the function.

I think I'm half blind sometimes. :-)

Thanks. That will do the job for now.
