Publishing Brekeke SIP server services over TMG

Post by moh10ly »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: Brekeke SIP Server, version 3_0_6_3

2. Java version:
1.7.0_05

3. OS type and the version:
Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
NET UX 2000 Gatewa, X-lite, Bria softphone

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :
Pattern 1

6. Your problem:
I'm trying to publish the SIP server services on TMG firewall to get clients to connect from iphone with bria client.
Internally I have no problem connecting and making calls however, Externally I get time out.

I have created all firewall rules correspond to firewall ports including the SIP UDP and TCP. I can see incoming traffic for TCP and UDP but it's connecting.
connections closes after a minute or two of retrying.

Do I need anything else to get this working?

Thanks

Does server machine have global IP or only local IP?
have you set port forwarding when making call with external phones?

what do u mean by global IP, You mean Public IP ?
The Brekeke Server has a private IP only, and yes I setup port forwarding from TMG to the the PBX.

I can sign in now but i'm unable to make calls. is there a specific client that I have to use on iPhone and/or PC?

sometimes calls works sometimes not! and on 3G when i'm on bria sip client I can call from iPhone to IPad if both are on 3G .. however on one of them it will still say calling while the call is actually connected and I can hear the voice from one of them.

is TMG ok to publish this ? I have already used TMG to publish Lync. And I'm hoping I can also use it as well.
Thanks

Did you set the public IP address of the firewall as SIP server's interface?
If you don't, refer to the wiki topic below.

Also you must disable SIP-ALG feature in the TMG firewall.

Network config

Post by moh10ly »

Yes, I did it's in the configuration under Network?

I can login successfully without any issues and sometimes it rings but mostly it doesn't ..

I'm trying to call from iPhone to PC with X-lite and 3CX clients. if I configure the local IP it works fine in all of the clients. if i changed it to public IP. it connect but i can't make calls.

What's the proper format for calling a number? I currently setup 4 extension length number.

When I call using the local i see the call comes as 2222@192.168.1.98 which is the IP of the Brekeke Server.

When I call using the external IP, I see the number doesn't go with the same format?
it should send a sip invite using the extension with the public IP ! right?

It doesn't matter

You don't have to care about it. UA (such as X-Lite) will handle it.

Let you put "register.contact.nat=true" in the [Config]->[Advanced] page and restart the server.
