Is it required to install JRE on win7 before installing PBX?

PAL SDK 2.4.4.11

3. OS type and the version:
Win 7

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

6. Your problem:
I am installing PBX and PAL SDK.
Installation asks about JRE.
Is it required to install JRE seperately before installing PBX and SDK?
If yes, then which version is good for Windows 7?
