Headset Feedback

Post by tranquilnet »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version:

Brekeke PBX, Version 2.4.3.9 , Multi-Tenant

2. Java version:

N/A

3. OS type and the version:

Windows 2008 R2 Server

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

N/A

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

Pattern 9

6. Your problem:

We have a multi-tenant client that is complaining about feedback when using a headset with his phone.

I tested the headset with multiple VOIP phone makes/models and there is still feedback.

I then tested the headset on a traditional analog phone NOT connected to our Brekeke server and the feedback went away.

Therefor, I concluded that it is not the make/model of phone and it is being caused by our system in some form or fashion.

My question is this:

1) Are then any setting on our Brekeke SIP server that may help out with call quality including feedback and echo-ing?

2) Is there a headset make/model that you find works well almost all the time?

Any input would be much appreciated especially because I understand this issue may not be Brekeke related.

Thanks,

-Will

Was it a call between PBX users?

Does his SIP device support echo canceler?
If so, let him enable it.

UPDATE: I resolved the issue for this particular client by swapping out their $100 headset for a $15 Panasonic headset. They say the call quality is much better now :)
