Newbie help

Post by vorpal »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: JTAPI SDK

2. Java version: 1.5 or 1.6

3. OS type and the version: Windows XP or Windows 2k3

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
Innomedia VOIP Adapter; Gizmoproject.com acct;

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :
pattern 5, I think

6. Your problem:
I'm a newbie looking for a solution to a personal problem. I want to create a home automation interface via phone. I noticed from the specs that the support codec was G.711, iLBC, but I configured my VOIP adapter for PCMU, PCMA, and G729A. Are we talking about the same codecs? Again, being a newbie, I'm not sure what these codec are.

I just wanted to know if it is possible for someone to create a basic menu selection system using JTAPI SDK with a simple hardware setup like mine (Innomedia VOIP adapter, free SIP acct through gizmoproject.com)?

What inexpensive type of telephony card can you recommend I use in my PC?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

I don't think Brekeke supports telephony cards other than audiocodes PCI GW.

here are my 2 cents:

PCMA = G.711 A-law
PCMU = G.711 ulaw
