SIP settings on Internet in area where telephony sites are

Post by abdullahkhan »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: Sip server Version 2.1.6.2 Evaluation

2. Java version: jre1.6.0_03

3. OS type and the version: Windows XP sp2

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved: MSN on both sides for testing.

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

6. Your problem:

My SIP server is working well in the LAN. I checked with MSN 5.1 on both sides. But when I used it in WAN (Internet), it doesn't work. I also apply the settings as

SIP exchanger - Local Port [UDP]
Default Value: 5060
RTP Exchanger - From Minimum Port to Maximum Port [UDP]
Default value: 10000-10999

I also try the second option mentioned in the same text... the sip server is in the area where telephony sites like skype, voipcalls are banned, but a lot of softphone are still operating. They are using Voip tunnel.

May I used Voip Tunnel with the SIP server and How ?
Or Is there any other method to operate my SIP Server in the area ?

Regards & anticipation,
james

why is UDP 5060 blocked?
can you ask your provider to open the port?

anyway, you can specify the SIP port by setting [Configuration]->[SIP]>[Local Port] at the SIP Server.
and, you need to specify the SIP Server's IP address and port at X-Lite.

Dear , thanks for the interest, I already Quote that whenever I changed Local Port from 5060. Server can not reply even on LAN.

As per X-Lite config

SIP Account settings. .. Account Tab -> User ...888
Domain -> 192.168.x.x my local Computer IP on which BSS is installed.

Domain Proxy -> Check Register with Domain & Proxy Address -> IP of BSS computer.

All other options are defualt....

Dear , where I can put SIP Server IP and Port in X-Lite .... please can you put in detail as I did'nt see port.... there is only one option as Port used on Local Computer....

I am behind the NAT. My router is Azetch DSL 605 EU made in China

To setup a port at the x-lite you have to enter as Domain the IP address:portnumber. For instance 192.168.xx:3456.

For calling to PSTN, you can use an ITSP too...

If I need Internet Telephony Service Provider, then what is mean by BSS. I already set SIP Server, so have a complete VOIP, now If I will install FXO/FXS it will connect PSTN. But I need help in selection Switch/ PCI i.e CAHTA Boards - PCI version or any other that is best for connection to PSTN.
