5. Your problem:
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) just approved new upcoming rules that will require all VoIP service providers in the U.S. to implement a Do Not Originate list in their systems. When a call comes into the service provider's system, it will be necessary to check the incoming caller ID number against this DNO list and block the call at that point if the number is on this DNO list. Additionally, it will be necessary to send a SIP 603+ to the endpoint to which the call was intended to reach.
I'm thinking that I can use an external database with my BSS server, for either the Phonebook database or the Block database, and put the DNO list in there. This list could have hundreds of thousands of numbers in it. How large can an external database be for the Phonebook or the Block database and be reasonably quick in searching for an entry from BSS?
Also, what about the SIP 603+ message? Is there a way now, to implement this 603+ SIP message, or will BSS need to be updated to handle that?

Re: New FCC Requirement to Use DNO List
The Alias Database or the Phone book Database can be used for this purpose.
I recommend that you host The Alias Database with a 3rd party database system to gain a performance increase.
