Brekeke on Amazon web service

Post by charles.tsai »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version:
3.0.6.3
2. Java version:
jdk-6u33-linux-x64
3. OS type and the version:
Amazon Web Service instance:Redhat Enterprise Linux 6.3
4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

6. Your problem:
Has anyone tested running Brekeke SIP server on Amazon Web Service(AWS) instance? Because AWS use dhcp on NIC setting and would get different eth0 ip (10.x.x.x) each time after system reboot. First problem we got is the trial licensing problem. After placing trial serial and active SIP server, it's activated. But the license would expire after system reboot.(because eth0 ip changed after rebooting) Is there a solution for this license issue or Brekeke SIP server simply CANNOT run on Amazon Web Service? Thanks.
Regards.

do you need to re-enter license ID again when reboot server?
or just get a 5-day temporary license warning without re-enter ID after reboot the server.

if it is 5-day temporary license warning,
stop all java process and restart tomcat instead of reboot machine
there will be no temporary license issue
# Kill all java: # killall java
# Restart tomcat:
* # cd $CATALINA_HOME/bin
* #./catalina.sh restart

you may need to ask for license transfer

Thanks for the reply.

Yes the enter-license screen showed up again after reboot. It's a trial SIP license serial which was applied to test Amazon Web Service.

Because AWS automatically config NIC to DHCP and will get 10.x.x.x. random private ip after reboot. Right now I think the only way to keep using trial Brekeke SIP is "don't reboot at all" after entering Brekeke serial. :( But it seems impossible for long-term usage.

Does AWS reboot the OS without notice?

I was tested on AWS VPC. It works perfect.

There was no problem. Good Luck!
