6. Your problem:

All,

I have a very important question I need some clarification on..

What are the DNS and Reverse DNS lookup/relations to the Brekeke Sip Server.

I ask because when we had our DNS servers down for a few hours, a few brekeke sip servers heartbeats stayed on idle and even resetting the brekeke sip servers didn't work!

Please leave all and full details.
Thank you for all your help!

Do these Brekeke SIP Servers need to send DNS query packets?

Is there any DialPlan rules which point domain name?

If you have Wireshark, you can check FQDN by capturing DNS packets.

There aren't any dial plans that point domain name.

I want to know is why a Brekeke Sip Server would stay idle when you restart a heartbeat or reload the java in relation to the DNS lookups..
What is the API doing that stalls instead of just sending the reset command to bring the server back online?

Can anyone shed some more knowledge on this?

While the heartbeat is running, can you see any DNS-query packets sent from Brekeke SIP Server?

Did you set a heartbeat's target address with IP?
If you set it with FQDN, set it as IP address.

Thank you. I will test with Wireshark when another HB needs to be reset and confirm testing.
