Codec GSM

Post by jfmunera »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: Stable Vesion 2.4.7.3

2. Java version:1.5.0.15

3. OS type and the version: Centos 5.5

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html

6. Your problem:

I have configured a SIP trunk, my problem is that the sip trunk provider tells me that only works with GSM codec and I have the plant set to work with G729 codec. but the packets are large supplier says is why I have problems with choppy calls heard. provider says I'm eating the 400K channel 3 or 4 calls.

Perform a traffic analysis and I find that I'm used G729.

With Brekeke I can configure to use the GSM codec.

Thanks.

h1, you tried set Codec priority 8,0 - ??? sometimes helps
Options > Settings -> PBX system settings -> Codec priority 8,0
Options > Settings -> Media Server system settings -> Codec priority 8,0

and in ARS

or 18,0 but I have not tested

For your info..

You can check codec's Payload Type number at
http://www.networksorcery.com/enp/protocol/rtp.htm

For example
G729 is 18
GSM is 3
