Brekeke and Snom Phones

Post by tranquilnet »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version:

Brekeke PBX, Version 2.4.3.9 , Multi-Tenant

2. Java version:

N/A

3. OS type and the version:

Windows 2008 R2 Server

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

N/A

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

Pattern 9

6. Your problem:

We are using Snom phones to connect to our Brekeke PBX/SIP server and would like to know:

1) The optimal settings on the Brekeke side if any

2) The optimal settings on the Snom side

3) The optimal Snom firmware version to use

We did come across this article which shows some snom/Brekeke recommended settings:

http://wiki.snom.com/Interoperability/PBX/Brekeke

We ask because even after applying the recommended settings above, we are having some phones lose their registration:

Identity 1 Status: 1000516@sip.tranquilnet.com: Unauthorized

Re-registering and re-booting does not fix the problem, however, re-entering the user's SIP password does temporarily fix the problem on some phones as seems to fully resolve the issue on others.

Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Will

try to disable the authentication from brekeke side
at sipserver /configuration/sip/authentication
set register: off
and restart sip server from gui
if snom registered successfully, it means you didnot set the same authentication user and password on both brekeke and phone side

check http://www.brekeke.com/products/product ... simple.php
step 4 and 5

Thanks for your response. I confirmed that the username/password is correct. The steps that seemed to have worked in my situation are:

1) Adjust snom settings as per the following wiki:

http://wiki.snom.com/Interoperability/PBX/Brekeke

2) Re-enter identity password and re-register

3) Reboot the phone

2) Re-enter identity password and re-register

Last question, is there a snom firmware version that works best with Brekeke?

Thanks,

-Will

Thanks for your quick reply. I forgot to mention that we are using a third party accounting and authentication software named RadiusCAT from SVK Software. Additionally, when I stated that I re-entered the password, I was re-entering it on the snom phone. Brekeke and RadiusCAT were not having problems. It is the snom phone that needed the password to be re-entered. Thanks!

Yes, within the snom phone web GUI I re-enter the identity's SIP password and the snom phone will re-register successfully. As of now, the this seems to have resolved the issue. Note that the password was correct before I re-entered it as the phone was working and then randomly entered a state of "Un Authorized".

maybe snom phone didnot save the password and when re-register, it cannot send correct password.
it is better to save the setting on snom after changing anything.
or update snom to latest firmware

Thanks for your reply. What version of Snom firmware is best to use with Brekeke? We are using Snom 300, 320, and 821 phones.

Thanks!

Understood. Thanks.

After adjusted settings on several snom phones, all phones seem to work except one of which we have ordered a replacement as the phone itself may be faulty.
