BSS mirroring and hartbeat configuration

Post by Yehudah_Panzer »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version:

2. Java version:

3. OS type and the version:

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

6. Your problem:

I have read all guides regarding BSS and PBX redundancy configuration, however there is single moment that I don't quite understand. In order to configure two servers with BSS (PBX) within redundand scheme I need to assign so called VIRTUAL_IP_ADDRESS for both physical servers. As I understood it must be same IP address. More over, SIP UAs are addressing to that IP address as to SIP Proxy address.

1. How can I assign same IP address for two servers ? It shell occures with Network address collision.

2. How should I configure IPphone to be working with the BSS in redundand mode ?

Could somebody clarify me the mechanics of work of Mirroring at a network and SIP UA standpoints, please ?

example
server1 (primary server)
IP1: 172.16.0.10/255.255.0.0 (Virtual IP address)
IP2: 192.168.200.10/255.255.255.0

Server2 (secondary server)
IP1: 192.168.200.20/255.255.255.0

172.16.0.10 is virtual IP and it is assinged to server1 only at the beginning
Register UAs to Virtual IP address 172.16.0.10

192.168.200.x ips on both servers are used for heartbeat
set the other server's 192.168.200.x ip at sip server/mirroring/Pair IP Address
http://wiki.brekeke.com/wiki/Set-up-Mir ... IP-Servers

when server1 is down, failover happens
server2 will be assigned with virtual ip by the actions set at server2/pbx/sip server/heartbeat
