Using SIP proxy as a redirect Server between Avaya and Coral

Post by bgorman »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: SIP Proxy 2.21

2. Java version:

3. OS type and the version: Windows Server 2003

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

Avaya IP office 406 4.0 Tadiran Coral IPX 500 ver 15

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

6. Your problem:
Ok as Avaya does not support SIP endpoints yet. I am using a SIP server as a redirect server between and avaya and a tadiran . Both the avaya and the Tadiran SIP to the SIP proxy and pass requests on to each other

This works fine except for a cancel on the tadiran end. The cancel goes through to the avaya and the avaya responds with a 200 OK but does not hang up the channel......

Most likely a Avaya issue but any ideas?

Hi bgorman,

You mean... Avaya is still ringing even if it receives CANCEL?

no the handsets hang up ok. The Avaya receives the CANCEL from the Proxy and replies with a 200 OK.

It doesn't release the SIP channel so its idle again after the cancel but so the only way to refree up the channels is to restart the avaya.

Im going to upgrade from ver 4.0 to 4.1 to see if that helps at all.

Hi bgorman,

Did the Avaya send a 487 response to the proxy after it received a CANCEL?
