Auto Attendant and Disconnection of Session

Post by rajinfoway »

1. Brekeke Product Name and version: 2.07.0 Pro

2. Java version:

3. OS type and the version:

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/ ... terns.html :

6. Your problem:

PSTN to VOIP calls does not get disconnected for a longtime when the call is directed to an Auto Attendant.

There is no such problem when the call is directed to an extension without IVR.

I could see the session active in Sip server and PBX (Call Status).

Hoping to have advice or solution on the above situation.

Regards

Auto Attendant and Disconnection of Session

Post by cgwright »

Hi,

We have had the same problem. In our case it was that the FXO gateway was not seeing the "cleardown" event from PSTN.

The FXO port must see the cleardown when the caller hangs up. This cleardown, or disconnect, signal is different in different countries. Here in the UK it takes the form of a loop break of around 80mS.

With a normal extension, without IVR, the call clears when the CALLED party hangs up. But with an Auto Announcement, it does not clear for a long time, because the attendant is waiting for the caller to finish.

We got a resolution from the FXO gateway supplier (Patton) whose support was excellent, and they made a firmware upgrade to fix the problem.

If you are using the IVR as a Telephone Answering Machine, you can shorten the delay by setting a maximum recording time - the call will then clear anyway once the recording time is up.

Hope this helps
