Hi Titan, Sorry for the late reply... I think I got it... The original request was coming from user@ and was pointing to 4045551212@external_ip.com. I needed to target the call to the asterisk server and then change both the 'to' and 'from' so they are user@asteriskserver.local and 4045551212 ...

I think I see what my problem is and I am not convinced it will be possible with a single Proxy. I am trying to do this: Extension --> BSS --> Asterisk --> BSS --> Avaya --> Extension I believe I need one instance of BSS for the external connections (ITSP and externally connected stations) and then ...

That is correct... Which that is working just fine... But what I have an issue with is placing a call from the external phone and that call originate from the Asterisk. I will give you an example: I register extension 1099912 at my house through BSS to Asterisk. I want to call an extension on the ...

After some digging, I found this thread.
In a nut shell, you would need to register from the Asterisk to a UA on the Proxy and then have Upper Registration to the ITSP.

It works like a charm!

After much reading and trial and error, I have finally figured this out. I would like to share just in case someone else is looking for this. It actually doesn't have very much to do with Diversions other than the fact that they are a URI and I am getting the URI for Diversion and Replacing the URI ...

Thanks for the response. That is great information. What I want to do is read from the diversion header in the invite and then rewrite the header so that what is in the diversion header is now in the To: section. I am all set up to try some things out so I am going to work on in based on your info ...

Hello all, 30 days from my original post and we have built the SIP Proxy in the Xen environment. The QoS is the only sticky problem we saw but it was pretty straight forward to resolve. We keep our data traffic separated via VLan through our Core, out to the Distribution, and down to the access ...
