No. That's for the PBX anyway, not the SIP Server.

Thanks Mike.

I'm trying to interface BSS with my upstream service provider. They use either POST or GET (REST API) or they use SIP (request = MESSAGE).

I got it fixed! I was able to make one change in my router/firewall that allows it to work now.

Your help, Laurie, was invaluable to me. I really appreciate it. I've also learned a lot more about how BSS works. I like that, too.

Ohhhh! The routers that I use are MikroTik, which are VERY flexible in their programming - and somewhat complicated because of that. I'll dig a bit more into the router and see what I might find that might be causing or might help this situation. I tried enabling Hairpinning, but I'm not sure that ...

Yes, the BSS is behind NAT, so it has a private (LAN) IP. In the BSS Configuration, I've entered the LAN IP of the BSS into Internal IP address pattern. And I've entered the Public IP of the BSS into Interface address 1 and External IP address pattern. For a call between the two 3CX servers, whether ...

Yes. I did all of that. It just didn't work. Meanwhile, I got more packet captures and looked at the rtp streams. Very interesting. As long as 3CX-B is set to $rtp=false for either inbound or outbound calls, and 3CX-A is set to $rtp=true for either inbound or outbound, then audio works fine, flowing ...

I found the file, but it had quit logging this morning. The file size was too low.

I tried deleting today's file and running the test again, but a new log file isn't being created. It looks like I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Here's one line from the session.240321.log file. Is this the correct file? This call was made from 3CX-B to 3CX-A. $rtp was set to 'false' on 3CX-B for outbound calls and to 'true' for 3CX-A inbound calls. Audio worked. No reference to RTPin this line. 11153, sip:4171234567@provider-ip, sip ...

I can tell when it's on or off because when it's on I don't have audio and when it's off, I do.

I enabled SIP Session in the Diagnostic Logs, but I don't see anything like "mode:RTPrelay".

I don't think the upstream service provider is involved in this issue, however, I'll take a look at the logs and see if I'm missing something there.

The inbound rules also involve doing a 302 to route calls through a STIR/SHAKEN service. I also use an alias list, with DID numbers in it that are assigned to the 3CX servers. Also, if a person tries to dial out, using a outbound caller id that is not in the alias list, the call will be blocked in ...

Here's how I tested. I hope this makes sense, the way I'm explaining it. 3CX-A: $rtp = true on inbound, $rtp = true on outbound 3CX-B: $rtp = true on inbound, $rtp = false on outbound A call from 3CX-B to 3CX-A works - audio is fine, both directions. Packet captures on the BSS machine show audio ...

Just one public IP address.

If the $rtp = false, then the public IP address in the SDP is the public IP address of the 3CX server.

If the $rtp = true, then the public IP address in the SDP is the public IP address of the BSS.

No, the 3 SIP 'entities' are not on the same network. Each has it's own public IP address. I looked at some packet captures of SIP messages in and out of the BSS. If I disable RTP ($rtp = false) in the Dial Plan for one of the servers for outbound calls, then in the INVITE for that outbound call, I ...

In other language that I'm most familiar with, I tended to use Subprograms instead of Functions. I have to remember that with BSS, these are Functions, therefore are returning a result itself ...

Thanks Laurie! I want to learn more about Regular Expressions. I've wondered if there was a way to do more along the lines of 'IF' statements in other programming languages. I see there is, using the correct Regular Expressions. This is cool!
