1. Brekeke Product Name and version: 2.4.6.7

2. Java version: v6 update 16

3. OS type and the version: Windows Server 2003 R2

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved: Nortel CS1K

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/networkpatterns.html : Pattern 1

6. Your problem: We are having issue with PBX negotiating at random payloads, either 10ms or 30ms, although we are RTP set at 20ms. Is there a way to set the payload size to force either 10ms or 30ms to do some debug testing?

I meant the Nortel PBX. The link supplied shows them what we are trying to prove. We have been having an issue with us sending the 20ms requests, but the Nortel sending us back 10ms and 30ms payloads.

I do have a question, how can i see the physical response of Brekeke to the site PBX showing we are accepting the 20ms PTIME? I can see it in the packet from site PBX to Brekeke, but i do not see it from Brekeke to PBX.

I should clarify, we are using Wireshark for captures.

Eventually.. it will be a problem of the Nortel PBX.

Who is another party?
Another party may need to set "PTIME" in a packet.

Does this mean that Brekeke is not passing a 20ms payload to the site PBX in a specific variable? This may explain our issues, since we may be making the site PBX confused. I see from the link supplied that they default to 20ms, but how does the site PBX get informed of that?

Since RTP traffic is exchanged between both UA, Brekeke SIP Server doesn't care it even if the SIP Server relays RTP packets.

Therefore you can not specify PTIME at the SIP Server..
It means you need to tune PTIME at UA.

The link above is for the other product, "Brekeke PBX" not for "Brekeke SIP Server".
So.... if you use Brekeke PBX instead of Brekeke SIP Server, the issue will not happen..

BUT... you should check the setting of Nortel PBX and another party.
because your case is a setting problem.

Can we use Brekeke PBX to connect with a Nortel CS1K trunk line?

Yes You can.

http://www.brekeke.com/download/download_pbx_2_0.php

so... the flow will be..
[ Nortel CS1K ] --> [ Brekeke PBX ] --> [ another party ]

Maybe it is my general newness to SIP and RTP, but i could not get any better functionality with PBX. Basically, it would seem that we are having a problem with the negotiation between SIP Server and CS1000. This is our current flow...
Nortel UA -> CS1000 -> Brekeke -> Our UA
I have been told multiple times that the CS1000 is a trunking system, and have been told the problem lies in our SIP trunk to SIP line conversion. I though that was where SIP Server came in, but it would seem there is something wrong here.Am I explaining this clear enough? Like I said, Newbie.

are you using brekeke pbx?
if the call go through pbx, you can see ptime in the sdp at the invite sent from brekeke pbx.
if use dialplan at brekeke pbx/sip server side, the call will not go through pbx, it will be the same as brekeke sip server only.

Since Brekeke PBX is a B2B-UA, it can pretend a UA..
It mean it can solve your problem if you set the correct settings.

I want to look at your dialplan rules because it will cause why you can not make it with Brekeke PBX.
