1. Brekeke Product Name and version:2.1.6.6

2. Java version:1.5

3. OS type and the version:Windows XP

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:X-Lite version 3,radius_sip_auth_04202007 plugin to be used with the sip server, in house radius server.

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/networkpatterns.html :

6. Your problem:i am having problem in integrating my X-Lite softphone with the SIP server and in house Radius server.

I have done all the required configuration for the sip server, X lite phone and radius server and created a sip user on the softphone.

When the sip user is being registered with the sip server my radius server receives an acces request authentication packet and sends back an access accept. The logs in the sv.yyyymmdd.5.log file (logs file of the radius authenticator plugin) pasted below show that the access accept packet has been received and authenticated by the plugin.

Brekeke SIP Server 2.1/239

sv: open logging-file: 'C:/Program Files/Brekeke/proxy/webapps/proxy/WEB-INF/work/sv/log/2008/10/sv.20081022.5.log'
sv: logging-plugin: com.brekeke.common.Logging
sv: 'My sip' at 'New Delhi' is starting...
sv: os=Windows XP (x86:5.1) java=1.6.0_05 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
sv: total.mem=5177344 free.mem=4881968 cpu=1 feel=happy

listener: start at Wed Oct 22 17:16:45 PDT 2008
listener: open session-log 'C:/Program Files/Brekeke/proxy/webapps/proxy/WEB-INF/work/sv/log/2008/10/session.20081022.log'.
listener: open dial-plan 'C:/Program Files/Brekeke/proxy/webapps/proxy/WEB-INF/work/sv/etc/dialplan.tbl'.
listener: hostname=sys2 listen-port=5060
listener: interface={ 192.168.100.132 }

Wed Oct 22 17:16:46 PDT 2008 RadiusAuth: start
Wed Oct 22 17:16:54 PDT 2008 RadiusAuth: lookup
Wed Oct 22 17:16:54 PDT 2008 RadiusAuth: New radiusclient
Wed Oct 22 17:16:54 PDT 2008 RadiusAuth: Creates a new radius request packet
Wed Oct 22 17:16:54 PDT 2008 RadiusAuth: send radius request to the radius server and get a new radius response
Wed Oct 22 17:16:56 PDT 2008 RadiusAuth: User mita02 authenticated

However the X-Lite soft phone is still giving a 408-request time out error and at times unauthorized error.
Can you please solve this issue of mine.If possible kindly send me the settings which should be done on the X-Lite and SIP Server to solve this problem.

if you don't use the radius, can X-Lite make a registration successfully?

Yes.if i dont use radius it can make the registration successfully. But there is no problem in the radius. As you can see in the log provided by me that the plugin accepts and successfully validates/authenticates the response packet sent back by my radius.

Did the SIP server return the "408 Request Timeout" to the X-Lite?
How bout "100 Trying"? Did the SIP Server return 100?

Yes the SIP Server returned "408 Request Timeout" to the X-Lite and also sometimes "401 Unauthorized".

It is Weird...
The SIP Server should reply "100 Trying"...

At the SIP Server's GUI, check [Configuration] > [SIP] > "[100 Trying]..
It should be "any requests".

Can you paste "408 Request Timeout" packet here?
