1. Brekeke Product Name and version: SIP Server 2.2

2. Java version:1.5

3. OS type and the version: XP 5.1

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
grandstream, Xlite, SNOM

5. Select your network pattern from :

6. Your problem:

I am new user, in the process of testing various ITSP for termination services. One of them says that they require PBX customers to comply with the SIPConnect standard -http://www.sipforum.org/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,134/Itemid,75/.

Is this something that Brekeke supports?

Hi rollurown,

Thank you for using Brekeke.

I think Brekeke PBX meets SIPConnect standard's requirement.

This is because Brekeke PBX supports the following RFCs which SIPConnect standard defines as MANDATORY.
RFC2833, RFC3261, RFC3263, RFC3264

Also, Brekeke PBX supports the following RFCs too which SIPConnect standard defines as RECOMMENDED.
RFC3262, RFC3311, RFC3489, RFC3725, RFC4028

One of the requirements of SIPConnect is the ability to support TLS (Transport Layer Security) for authenticating the PBX caller to the ITSP. Since BSS does not (yet) support TLS, I don't think it can be considered compatible with SIPConnect.

Another requirement is to support DifServ in signaling and RTP for QoS. Although this can be done with external solutions like an ALG appliance, BSS by itself does not comply.

That said, there are very few PBX vendors that do support SIPConnect. If the ITSP requires it, imho you should look elsewhere.

I suggest GRNVOIP for reliable SIP termination.

Hi ehernaez,

Thank you for your reply.

From the standard document, TLS is not a requirement for "PBX". (page 7)

Anyway, we will add TLS handling in a future release.

Thanks

Check out grnVoIP. They are by far the best SIP termination provider for PBX deployments.

And great rates too:
