Newbie - Setting up Advanced Edition

2. Java version:

3. OS type and the version: Windows 2003

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved: N/A

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/networkpatterns.html :
Pattern 2 (closest)

6. Your problem:

I'm just about to set up a trial fo 2x Advanced edition in a mirroring configuration, but need a bit of clairifcation.

a) The virtual address... Does this need to be on a sperate NIC on both servers with the SAME address?
b) Is SIP / RTP traffic routed to this address or the server address?
Finally if a) is seperate card on same server, does it have to be totally different subnet, or can I use , for example.
10.20.10.10 / 255.255.255.0 on Main

10.20.20.10 / 255.255.255.0 on Virtual, or better still:
10.20.10.11?

donot need to be on a separated NIC, you can add virtual ip from Internet protocal (TCP/IP) properties/advanced

route to virtual ip address

c)10.20.10.10 / 255.255.255.0 on Main
10.20.20.10 / 255.255.255.0 on Virtual, or better still:10.20.10.11?

10.20.10.10 / 255.255.255.0 on Main
10.20.20.10 / 255.255.255.0 on Virtual is better
